Conor McGregor led out of police station in handcuffs after bus attack on rival left two injured in New York


Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor is facing three counts of assault and one of criminal mischief following a shocking bust-up in which he hurled a metal trolley through the window of a rival’s team bus.


A HANDCUFFED Conor McGregor is led from a New York police station after being charged with assault and criminal mischief following his attack on a rival fighter’s bus.

McGregor, looking composed, held his chin up as he walked toward an unmarked police car without acknowledging a throng of journalists and onlookers who shouted messages of support.

The MMA superstar turned himself in to cops last night after footage showed him smashing the bus window with a metal trolley during chaotic scenes at a UFC event.

The UFC superstar’s plane was grounded in New York while police searched for him and he later walked into the police station voluntarily.

An NYPD spokesman said this morning: “He (McGregor) has been charged with three counts of assault and one of criminal mischief.”

The spokesman added that 25-year-old Cian Cowley, also a mixed martial arts fighter from Dublin, has also been charged with assault. He said both men would appear before a judge sometime today.
